External Review of HETAC

The report on the external review of HETAC was published today, 5 July 2006.  The evaluation was the first carried out under the European Standards and Guidelines agreed by European Ministers in May.  The Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) was reviewed under the provisions of the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act, 1999 and the European Standards and Guidelines.

The review panel comprised a team of international experts in the area of quality assurance in higher education, chaired by Dr Seamus Smyth, President Emeritus of NUI Maynooth.  Details of the panel members available here...Panel

The review was based on a self evaluation report prepared by HETAC.  The response of the HETAC Council is appended to the report.
