Freedom of Information Act
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act commenced on 20 April 1998 for Government Departments and certain Government bodies and commenced for the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) from 31 May 2006. Two publications are required to support the FOI Act.
Section 15 requires each public body to prepare and publish a manual setting out a general description of its organisation structure, function, services, rules and guidelines, classes of records held, names of designated members of staff of the body responsible for carrying out these arrangements and the rights of review and appeal under the Act. Section 16 of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act requires that The Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) publish a manual containing its rules, procedures, practices, guidelines and interpretations and an index. This is available to download here... Section 16 FOI
